The Impact of Supervisor’s Evaluation on Employees

The Impact of Supervisor’s Evaluation on Employees

Methods assignment 2: Measures
For this assignment you will select the measures that will be used in your study. This assignment will be worth 20 points.

You have 2 options. Please put a check or X denoting your choice.
?Option 1: Identify two previously developed questionnaires (one for your IV and one for your DV).
?Option 2: Identify one previously developed questionnaire and create one questionnaire (one for your IV and one for your DV).

For previously developed questionnaires:
Use your previous research to identify questionnaire(s) that have been previously used to determine your IV and/or your DV.
For each measure state:
1. What does the questionnaire measure?
2. Give 2 sample items. Does your questionnaire have face validity and content validity?
3. Provide internal consistency reliability estimates (i.e., alphas) reported in previous studies (minimum of 1).
4. Has your questionnaire demonstrated validity in other studies?
Report at least 2 types of criterion validity (i.e., predictive, concurrent, convergent, and discriminant)

Developing your own questionnaire:
Write a set of questions for your participant (or a participant’s teacher, parent, peer, or co-worker) to answer.
1. What does your questionnaire measure?
2. Write at least 3 questions that have both face and contentvalidity. Responses to these questions should be on a scale (not free form or true/false). Avoid the common pitfalls of question wording (pg. 136-138 in your text book)
3. Describe how you would test the reliability of your questionnaire.
4. Find one questionnaire that you would expect to have convergent validity with your questionnaire.
5. Find one questionnaire that you would expect to have divergent validity with your questionnaire.
6. Provide a justification for why you decided to create a questionnaire.
