The Gantt chart is more basic than the network based approach expands on the Gantt chart as it can show the sequence of events and the connections between each activity. The Gantt chart is more popular than network based approaches however, sometimes both are used concurrently. You state that during the network based approach, one step starts and finishes before the next step occurs and is tracked by the network based approach. Can activities occur simultaneously and if so can either the network approach or the Gantt chart show simultaneous activities?
