Responding to “Rheya”

Instruction 13
LM12D1: Responding to “Rheya”

Kelvin’s response to the first visit from “Rheya” is extreme when compared to his response to her second visit. In light of what Kelvin understood through Chapter Six (exclude Chapter Seven for this discussion), which approach seems best: what he did in Chapter Five, he change of approach in Chapter Six, or something of your own imagining not found in the book? Provide an assessment of the merits and problems with how Kelvin responded to establish a context for your verdict about how he should have responded.

LM12D2: Berton and the Station

Explain how Messenger’s hypothesis about Fechner fits with what Kelvin and the others were experiencing on the Station. Review the evidence that links the phenomena.
