Literary Analysis III
Order Description
There are 3 major parts to this assignment.

First, Provide a summary of Postcolonial theory. What is it? What is it concerned with? How is it a tool for looking at the world today? Why is it important? Consider when and how it emerged as a school of thought and give concrete examples to anchor your explanations. The goal of this section is to demonstrate your command of the theory and reflect on its intended purpose. This needs to be around 350-400 words.

Second, Use the attached article “The black family in the age of mass incarceration for this part) use the postcolonial theme of “race” to do a Postcolonial analysis, and perform a succinct analysis. What are the messages about as it pertains to race, and an us vs them perspective? How does the theory illuminate your experience of the text? This needs to be at least 500 words.

Third, do a postcolonial analysis using the theme of “imperialism”, and how ikea is taking over the world.
Perform a succinct analysis. What are the messages about as it pertains to imperialism. Consider how Ikea is imposing there style of furniture and furnishings on the world. How does the theory illuminate your experience of the text? This needs to be at least 500 words.

The goal section 2 and 3 are to take the theory beyond the texts and identify how the concepts apply to the world around us.
