Hierarchies

Hierarchies are used to simplify sequenced
and/or timed movements.

A.
Describe, in your own words, what hierarchies
are

B.
Give an example using as much detail as possible
of how hierarchies are used for specific sequenced and timed movements.

2.
Many different structures of the nervous system
control human movement in different ways. When these structures are damaged or
do not function properly, movement is impaired. Give two different examples
of a CNS structure and describe what the ultimate impact is on a specific motor
skill when those structures are impaired.

3.
We have discussed the idea that we as humans
have two different ways to control movement: Feedforward and Feedback. In
detail, give an example of:

A.
One movement that uses feedforward control.

B.
One movement that used feedback control.

C.
One movement that uses both feedforward and
feedback control

D.
For each example, be sure to give specific
evidence as to why that movement is controlled that way.
