Ethics and the Immigration Crisis Along the Southern Border of the United States
Research the responsibility of the U.S. government regarding the social contract concept and discuss what the federal government’s responsibility is to its citizens with regard to the southern border of the United States. Discuss the government’s moral responsibility in taking care of U.S. border security. (Title 8 of the United States Code is the immigration law code of the country.)
Discuss if the U.S. government has a moral obligation to non-citizens. Justify your position.
Note: It is important to not let your political views or emotions influence your analysis and discussion. This assignment is simply looking at the concept of the social contract, period. You will be discussing what the “concept” says about the U.S. government’s responsibilities as it relates to the concept of the social contract and unlawful entry by non-citizens into the United States.
