Select 4 articles, 4 required films, and 4 PowerPoint presentations introduced between weeks 6-12 to address in your concept paper. Your paper should summarize the overarching learning themes or concepts.

Final Paper Outline:

Introduction and what overarching theme or concept you plan to explore.
Summarize the materials you plan to use and highlight why these concepts are important and how they helped you better understand race, ethnicity, and inequality more generally.
In conclusion, make sure to share what surprised you the most about the materials you incorporated, and any personal connections you made between the materials you select.
Don’t forget the following:
-Cover page clearly identifying the concepts you aim to explore (e.g., race in the media, anti-racism, prison industrial complex, etc.)
-Clearly bold each of the 4 articles, 4 class films, and 4 PowerPoints the first time you reference them and include them in your reference list.
-You do not have a page count for your concept paper; you are simply required to address all of the above. Generally, if you adequately address all of the requirements of this portion of your paper, you will most likely complete 4-5 pages in length.

Part II. Ethno-Cultural Identity Paper:

Part 2 of your paper will include an ethnic-cultural identity reflection essay that may include pictures, doodles, drawings, rants, poems/spoken words, lyrics, collages, or any other forms of expression.
Begin with creating an identity map (required) to include with your paper, as follows:

Next, review your identity map. What aspects of your identity are most important to you? What aspect of your reflect your ethno-cultural identity or ethnicity? If you do not have a connection to an ethnic identity, share why that is and what ethnicity means to you now and your family of origin. Last, select an identity characteristic, family tradition, or experience you have had that captures your ethnic heritage, and write about why it is an important part of defining who you are.
Please include 2-3 pictures that illustrate or represent your ethno-cultural identity; you may include family pictures, clip art, or drawings, etc.
